I was pleased to hear Kracker Radio/Radio Jamba Int'l on 6925 kHz waayyy back on 18 September 2007 from prior to 0041 to sign-off at 0116 UTC. The signal was weak but clear, but I neglected to note whether the broadcast was in AM or SSB mode (shame on me)...
Details of my reception are as follow:
tuned in to some Bozo clips, Kracker said he was glad to be back in Missouri, played music by Lazy White Boy, talk about "m-f-ing corn for 450 miles", into Led Zepplin
0041 - talk about OJ Sumpson
0043 - mention of Rabbitville, MO
0044 - Stones "Mother's Little Helper"
0045 - sed "20 wheeler"
0047 - rap "Fuck That"
0048 - Frank Zappa - "Cosmic Debris"
0052 - "oh my gosh..." repeated, then gales of laughter
0053 - ?? Brother
0056 - ID as Radio Jamba International
0058 - more Bozo clips, Cmdr Bunny talked about Alfa Lima
0059 - Alan Weiner rant
0100 - Kracker retorts to Alan Weiner, followed by a Drug Market report, then "White Rabbit" by the Jefferson Airplane
0105 - shout-out to Cosmik
0106 - parody song "All Fucked Up" (I'd love a copy of that one!), then a bit about if Heroin was legal and coffee was illegal...
0112 - sign off info
0113 - closing song "Open Your Eyes"
0115 - "wake up, Michael!"
0016 - Belfast drop and email info, then off.
Your signal was snatched outta the aether by a DX Engineering DX-A "twin sloper" antenna and demodulated by an Icom R-75 receiver. I don't believe I had to use any of the "bells & whistles" available to hear the signal, but I really don't recall at this point.
I live in the sleepy little hamlet of Belfast, in Allegany County, about 65 miles SE from Buffalo, 60 miles South of Richester, 80 miles West of Elmira, 30 miles North of the PA line, and at least 20 miles from anywhere. Belfast is in a primarily agricultural area; there is one single AM station in the county, which is about 25 miles from me - so it's a pretty quiet RF area and a good place for me to pursue my radio-listening habit. I mean HOBBY, of course... ;)
If this report is found to be correct, I would appreciate receiving your QSL card or letter for my collection. I think that you should have the address. An eQSL is also acceptable, of course.
Thanking you for the interesting listening, I remain
Sincerely yours,
John T. Arthur
